Supporting Sports Development, PT Timah Facilitates Training Facilities for West Bangka Karate Athletes

WEST BANGKA -- To support karate athletes in West Bangka by facilitating athletes to train at Wisma Majapahit, Mentok, Regency, West Bangka.

Several West Bangka karate athletes diligently practice karate taught by coaches. Wisma Majapahit is often a training ground for athletes.

Apart from that, Wisma Sriwijaya PT Timah in Mentok is also a venue for sports competitions in several sports events such as Porprov, Karate regional championships, and student O2SN events.

FORKI chairman and West Bangka karate trainer Rafi said that PT Timah has always supported the achievements of its foster children by providing facilities and infrastructure.

"Thank God, PT Timah has been supporting children's achievements, such as providing facilities for children to practice, and has sent foster children to the provincial karate championship," said Rafi, Friday (31/5/2024) afternoon.

He said, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, karate athletes train at Wisma Majapahit.

"Of course, on behalf of the athletes and administrators of FORKI West Bangka, we would like to thank PT Timah for providing the facilities and support for the progress of West Bangka karate athletes," he said.

Meanwhile, Naila (11), a frog class Karate and Kumite athlete, admitted that she enjoyed training at Wisma Majapahit PT Timah.

"The place is spacious, covered, so if it rains you can still practice. So it's a pleasure to practice here," said the athlete who just won 1st place in the team championship in the Inkai Achievement championship.

Mutiara said the same thing, according to her, the achievements she has achieved so far are thanks to the support from PT Timah which has facilitated their training.

"Thanks to our diligent practice, supported by an adequate training ground here. Thank God, we achieved district and provincial championship achievements, hopefully we can become national athletes. Thank you PT Timah for the support," said Mutiara. (*)
