Supporting Oikumene Christmas Celebration, PT Timah Provides Assistance to Inter-Church Cooperation Body in Kundur Island

KARIMUN – As part of its social and religious responsibility, PT Timah has provided support to the Inter-Church Cooperation Body (BKAG) Committee in Kundur Island to facilitate the Oikumene Christmas celebration.

This contribution is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program aimed at fostering harmony within the community and supporting religious activities.

The assistance was handed over by Eka Budhy Susanto, Section Head of Community Development for the Prayun-Kundur area, to BKAG Committee Chairman Pastor Viky Rizky, accompanied by BKAG Kundur Chairman Pastor Jonah Becksenly Salko, on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Pastor Jonah expressed his joy and gratitude for PT Timah’s support, which made the Oikumene Christmas celebration for Christians in Kundur Island even more festive this year.

“PT Timah’s contribution will be used for the needs of the Oikumene Christmas celebration. Moreover, the support increases every year, bringing more cheer to this year’s festive Christmas celebration. It is truly a blessing for the church,” he said.

He praised PT Timah’s commitment to supporting religious activities in the Kundur area.

“For the past three years, PT Timah has consistently contributed to the Oikumene Christmas celebration organized by BKAG. This has greatly helped in creating a joyful and peaceful Christmas celebration,” he added.

Pastor Jonah also appreciated PT Timah’s efforts in providing transportation for congregants during the Oikumene Christmas celebration.

“On behalf of the BKAG committee, I express my heartfelt thanks to PT Timah for their contribution to the Christmas celebration. They even supported us with transportation, providing buses to transport congregants from Prayun, Sawang, and Batu to and from the celebration,” he explained.

Pastor Jonah also shared that last year, he was invited by PT Timah to a multi-faith prayer event in Kundur. Inspired by this, the pastors took the initiative to pray for PT Timah’s continued success.

According to Pastor Jonah, PT Timah consistently brings positive contributions to the communities within its operational areas.

“May PT Timah’s goodwill continue to grow, enabling them to support and sustain other religious programs in the future,” Pastor Jonah concluded. (*)
