PANGKALPINANG – As part of its commitment to improving the quality of human resources in its operational areas, PT TIMAH Tbk has once again distributed educational scholarships to children from low-income families.
This educational scholarship program is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to support community education.
This time, PT TIMAH Tbk provided a scholarship to Aldo, a student at Swadaya High School (SMA Swadaya), who has been facing financial difficulties in continuing his education. Through this program, PT TIMAH Tbk hopes to ease the financial burden of education costs.
Aldo’s mother, Poni, shared that their family has struggled to fund his schooling due to financial hardship. Both she and her husband earn just enough to meet their daily needs.
“I work as a housemaid, and my husband does odd jobs. Our income is unstable and only covers daily necessities. Our child wants to keep going to school, but we’ve been facing financial challenges,” she said.
She expressed her surprise and gratitude upon receiving the educational assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk to help cover her son’s delayed school fees.
“I didn’t expect to receive help from PT TIMAH Tbk. The school contacted us about assistance for my child’s education costs. I’m very happy and grateful—it really helps us. Thank you, and I hope PT TIMAH continues to grow and support the community,” she added.
Swadaya High School Principal, Binsar Nababan, stated that the school had recommended Aldo to receive the scholarship from PT TIMAH Tbk because he was in urgent need of financial assistance.
“The student is motivated and diligent in his studies. We understand his family’s financial challenges, so we proposed him for support from PT TIMAH Tbk. As a private school, we have limited capacity to assist economically disadvantaged students,” he said.
He also expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s attention and support for education, emphasizing that such synergy helps improve the quality of human resources.
“We are grateful that PT TIMAH Tbk has shown its concern for the education sector. Hopefully, PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to work together in supporting education,” he concluded.
