Supporting Food Security, PT TIMAH Distributes 4,500 Basic Food Packages Across Its Operational Areas

PANGKALPINANG -- As part of its efforts to support food security and help meet the daily needs of the community during the month of Ramadan, PT TIMAH distributed basic food assistance packages to low-income communities within the Company’s operational areas.

A total of 4,500 basic food packages were distributed by PT TIMAH during Ramadan 1447 Hijri to communities in the Provinces of Bangka Belitung Islands and Riau Islands.

These assistance packages were prioritized for the elderly, the underprivileged, and those in need. This program is part of PT TIMAH’s commitment to implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) by providing direct benefits to the community.

Through this initiative, PT TIMAH not only aims to share but also to contribute in helping communities meet their basic needs during Ramadan, especially vulnerable groups facing economic challenges.

The distribution of basic food packages is a routine program carried out by the Company ahead of major religious holidays. The assistance has been warmly welcomed by the community as it helps ease their economic burden.

PT TIMAH also collaborates with local governments in distributing the packages, ensuring that the assistance effectively reaches and benefits the community.

One of the beneficiaries, Arnimi (63), expressed her happiness upon receiving the package from PT TIMAH. For elderly individuals like her, the assistance can help meet food needs for up to two weeks.

“This is very helpful economically, especially given the current situation. Alhamdulillah, with this assistance from PT TIMAH, we can meet our basic food needs,” she said.

Similarly, Hayani (72) expressed her gratitude for the attention given by PT TIMAH. She was touched to be able to participate again in an activity organized by a company that had once been an important part of her life.

“Alhamdulillah, I received basic food assistance. I hope PT TIMAH continues to thrive, operate smoothly, and remain peaceful so it can keep contributing to the community,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of West Bangka, Yus, also appreciated PT TIMAH’s role in supporting the community, particularly during the blessed Safari Ramadan events.

“Alhamdulillah, at several Safari Ramadan locations, PT TIMAH has contributed to assisting underprivileged communities and orphans. Thank you for PT TIMAH’s care for the people of West Bangka. We hope the company continues to prosper and that the established synergy grows even stronger,” he stated. (*)
