BANGKA – To support environmental preservation and city management in Bangka Regency, PT Timah has donated equipment to the Bangka Environmental Agency (DLH).
PT Timah Tbk provided four units of cleaning equipment, including two lawnmowers and two tree-cutting machines.
The donation was presented during a community cleanup activity at the Taman Sari area in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency, on Friday, September 9, 2024.
In addition to donating, PT Timah employees also participated in the cleanup efforts alongside the DLH Bangka Regency team.
“Alhamdulillah, this donation is very helpful. Our equipment and personnel are limited, and the coverage area and service quality have not been optimal,” said Ismir Rachmadianto, Head of DLH Bangka Regency.
He noted that the assistance from PT Timah will help them improve their work quality.
“The many trees along the roads and around residential areas will certainly help enhance the quality of our work,” said Ismir.
Looking ahead, he hopes PT Timah will continue to support them in waste management, particularly in processing organic waste into compost.
“We also hope that PT Timah can support us in the field of organic waste processing by providing waste processing machines or organic waste shredders for compost production,” he added.
Having shredding machines would enable them to process waste into valuable products.
Additionally, he praised PT Timah's role and contribution to environmental management.
“We also greatly appreciate PT Timah's role and collaboration in reclamation activities and their commitment to environmental cleanliness,” he said. (*)
