WEST BANGKA -- To support the creativity of youth groups in the company's operational areas, PT Timah Tbk handed over assistance to the West Bangka Youth Organization which is holding Karang Taruna Month of Service activities 2023.
West Bangka Karang Taruna held a high school level choir competition and Social Hero Award in West Bangka Regency in commemoration of Heroes' Day and Karang Taruna's Month of Service 2023 which was held at the Multipurpose Building, Mentok District, Thursday (14/12/2023).
This assistance from PT Timah Tbk is used to support these activities, this is also a form of collaboration between PT Timah Tbk and youth groups.
Chairman of the West Bangka Youth Organization, Ari Kurniadi, said the activity aims to awaken the spirit of nationalism in the younger generation.
"Through this activity, it is hoped that the young generation participants will be able to foster a spirit of struggle, nationalist values, and moral responsibility to the nation, because in the future the challenge for the younger generation is to continue the nation's ideals, that past history really determines our destiny, our nation today," Ari said.
"Thank you for all the attention, and assistance from PT Timah and various parties who support the implementation of this activity," he said.
He said that his party often collaborates with PT Timah Tbk to carry out youth activities through Karang Taruna.
"PT Timah Tbk at the forefront helps the West Bangka Youth Organization to work, create innovations, and what is given to the students at this event is given by PT Timah. Hopefully, PT Timah will remain victorious, become a success, and be the pride of the community," he said.
Representative of West Bangka Region IV Education Division, Amrulah, said that the activities carried out by students were included in the Merdeka curriculum.
"This activity is extraordinary, different from the others and this is part of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Apart from extracurricular education, in this choir activity students learn about developing the Pancasila student profile (P5)," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of MentokSukandi Subdistrict said that this activity was a new innovation carried out by the West Bangka Youth Organization.
"Social Heroes is the latest innovation from Karang Taruna. We appreciate and support the activities carried out by the younger generation. This symbolizes the solidarity of youth," said Sukandi. (*)
