EAST BELITUNG – PT Timah remains committed to empowering the local economy, demonstrating its dedication by assisting the Teras Manggar community.
Teras Manggar is a public space hub for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and local musicians in Manggar District, East Belitung Regency. It offers a platform for creative expression while providing entertainment for the community.
Located next to the Manggar District Office, Teras Manggar has become a well-known gathering spot for the local community. However, one of its challenges has been the lack of supporting facilities such as chairs, tables, and a sound system.
To address this issue, PT Timah assisted in enhancing the infrastructure of Teras Manggar. The aid was officially handed over to Nano, the head of Teras Manggar, on Friday (14/02/25).
Nano expressed that Teras Manggar has frequently relied on borrowing chairs from the Manggar District Office, which often led to scheduling conflicts with other events in the area.
"We usually borrow chairs from the district office, but sometimes it clashes with other events that also require a lot of chairs," he explained.
Nano also conveyed his gratitude for PT Timah’s continuous support towards Teras Manggar.
"We are grateful for this assistance. PT Timah has always contributed to the community, not just this time. We also hope PT Timah can help renovate the Teras Manggar building so that our activities can be more comfortable and continue to grow," he stated. (*)
