PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its contribution to communities in its operational areas through various social programs, one of which is providing financial assistance for medical treatment to those in need.
This medical assistance program reflects the company’s commitment to helping communities facing health challenges while also easing the financial burden on families during the course of treatment.
Through its health-focused social assistance program, PT TIMAH supports residents undergoing intensive medical treatment, ranging from infants with congenital conditions to accident victims who still require ongoing care.
One of the beneficiaries is Zuliaifanda, a 10-month-old baby from Kundur Village, West Kundur District, who has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect since birth.
Zuliaifanda’s father, Zuljefri, explained that his child must undergo regular medical check-ups and treatment in Batam to receive further medical care due to the heart condition.
“Our child has had a heart defect since birth. We have taken him to the hospital in Batam three times. He was supposed to undergo surgery, but there were constraints, so the treatment must continue in stages,” he said.
In addition to assisting Zuliaifanda, PT TIMAH has also provided medical assistance to Risma, a resident of Sungai Gusung Hamlet, Rias Village, South Bangka Regency, who is still undergoing intensive treatment after an accident.
Risma’s father, Ridwan, said that his child continues to experience health issues, particularly headaches, and still requires routine medical check-ups.
Amid the family’s financial limitations, the cost of treatment and regular check-ups has become a significant challenge.
“We are very grateful to PT TIMAH for the assistance. This support will be used to help cover the cost of Risma’s ongoing treatment and medical check-ups at Gadung Hospital. If there is no improvement with medication therapy, the plan is to proceed with surgery,” he said.
In addition to providing financial assistance for medical treatment, PT TIMAH also continues to offer free healthcare services to communities through its Mobile Health program, which reaches various operational areas of the company.
