PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah supports the blood donation activity that will be held by the Regional Board of Gajah Mada University Alumni Family (Kagama) in Bangka Belitung Province on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
The support provided by PT Timah involves handing over 70 grocery packages to the Chairman of the Kagama Bangka Belitung Regional Board, Warsongko, on Wednesday (2/28/2024).
These dozens of grocery packages provided by PT Timah will be distributed to blood donors participating in the upcoming blood donation event this weekend.
The Chairman of the Regional Board of Gajah Mada University Alumni Family (Kagama) in Bangka Belitung Province, Warsongko, stated that they are organizing a blood donation event to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah.
He mentioned that based on information, during the month of Ramadan, the number of people donating blood decreases. Therefore, with this blood donation activity, they hope to increase the blood supply at the Pangkalpinang Red Cross (PMI).
"According to information from PMI Pangkalpinang, every fasting month always faces a blood shortage, maybe because there are fewer donors during Ramadan. So, we take a week before Ramadan, God willing, our target is to collect 100 blood bags," he said.
He appreciated the assistance from PT Timah in the form of grocery packages, stating that these packages can increase people's interest in donating blood.
"Our experience at Kagama organizing blood donation with grocery sharing has been extraordinary. We appreciate PT Timah for supporting this activity. Hopefully, PT Timah can continue to be beneficial to the people of Babel," he hoped. (*)
