Supporting Better Community Health Services, PT TIMAH Provides Assistance for the 6 Minimum Service Standards (SPM) Posyandu Competition in West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to support the development of Integrated Health Service Posts (Posyandu), which serve as the frontline of community healthcare services in the Company's operational areas.

This time, PT TIMAH supported the implementation of the 6 Minimum Service Standards (SPM) Posyandu Competition at Posyandu Mawar in Merabok Hamlet, Benteng Kota Village, Tempilang District, West Bangka Regency.

PT TIMAH's support is expected to strengthen the capacity of Posyandu in delivering better services to the community. Posyandu plays an essential role in improving the health of mothers, infants, children, adolescents, and older adults through promotive and preventive programs, as well as continuous health monitoring.

The 6 SPM Posyandu concept integrates six areas covered under Indonesia's Minimum Service Standards: health, education, public works, public housing, social services, and public order, public safety, and community protection. Through this integrated approach, Posyandu is expected to become a more comprehensive community service center at the village level.

Benteng Kota Village Head, Saprul, said the assistance provided by PT TIMAH would be used to support various needs related to the implementation of the 6 SPM Posyandu Competition.

According to him, the support is especially valuable because the activity had not been allocated funding through the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes).

"PT TIMAH's assistance has been instrumental in ensuring smooth preparations for the 6 SPM Posyandu Competition. The funds are being used to provide supporting equipment for the competition, including necessary supplies and refreshments for the evaluation team," he said.

Saprul explained that the 6 SPM Posyandu Competition is the second event of its kind held in Tempilang District as the representative of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The first competition was previously conducted at Posyandu Flamboyan in Buyan Kelumbi Village.

Various preparations are currently underway, including improving Posyandu facilities, organizing administrative documents, installing signboards and banners, and enhancing the capacity of Posyandu volunteers to ensure they are well prepared for the evaluation process.

"This competition evaluates not only administrative management but also the competencies of Posyandu volunteers. We continue to make improvements by learning from the experience of the previous competition," he explained.

He hopes that the implementation of the 6 SPM Posyandu concept will extend beyond the competition and become fully integrated into routine community health services so that its benefits can be felt by the public.

"Our hope is that the 6 SPM Posyandu program will not only succeed during the competition but will also be implemented consistently in daily services, allowing the community to receive even better healthcare services," he said.

Saprul also expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH's ongoing support for the people of Tempilang District. The Company has provided assistance in various areas, including religious activities, cultural preservation, and community and fishermen empowerment programs.

"We would like to thank PT TIMAH for always being there to support the community. When the village faces budget limitations, PT TIMAH has become a partner that helps meet the community's needs. We hope PT TIMAH will continue making meaningful contributions because we truly feel that the Company is close to the community," Saprul concluded. (*)
