BANGKA SELATAN -- PT TIMAH Tbk has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the community through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. This time, the company provided medical expense assistance to Octavian, a resident of Teladan Subdistrict, Bangka Selatan Regency.
PT TIMAH Tbk delivered financial support to help Octavian continue his medical treatment. He has been suffering for more than seven months from a pinched nerve that caused paralysis following an accident on his way home from work, which resulted in fractured ribs and a broken spinal bone.
Previously, the father of two had undergone examinations and treatment at the hospital. However, he was unable to continue his treatment due to personal financial limitations.
Efforts to use the national health insurance program (BPJS Kesehatan) for surgery also faced obstacles, as additional costs were still required. As a result, his medical treatment had to be discontinued and replaced with traditional remedies.
The assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk will be used by Octavian to resume medical treatment, particularly physiotherapy as recommended by the hospital.
The physiotherapy is considered essential to prevent further nerve damage and reduce the risk of permanent nerve loss. If there are remaining funds, they will be used for other needs directly related to his treatment process.
Octavian expressed his deep gratitude for the support provided by PT TIMAH Tbk. He said he never expected to receive such attention and assistance from the company.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful. At first, I only hoped, but I never imagined I would truly receive assistance from PT TIMAH. It’s a large company, and I didn’t expect them to pay attention to someone like me. This support means a lot for continuing my treatment,” he said.
He also expressed his hope that PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to consistently help people in need, especially those facing hardships.
