KARIMUN -- The celebration of PT Timah's 49th anniversary in Pulau Kundur was not only a moment of togetherness and entertainment, but also brought blessings for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the MSME Bazaar held at the Ceremony Field of PT Timah Office, Gemuruh Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency, on Sunday (20/7/2025).
A total of 33 local MSMEs participated to introduce and promote their products to the public. They sold various flagship products, ranging from food, beverages, to handicrafts typical of the Riau Islands Province.
This MSME bazaar also served as a momentum to boost product marketing, as the event was attended by around a thousand people. Before filling the MSME bazaar area, participants first joined a 3-kilometer Fun Walk, which was part of the 49th PT Timah Anniversary series of events.
The hot and sunny weather did not dampen the spirit of the public. In fact, the atmosphere at the MSME bazaar area became even more lively, as many participants chose to rest while enjoying various treats offered by the participating MSMEs.
People enthusiastically tasted the food and drinks sold by MSME players. Many also brought home products such as honey, snacks, accessories, and other handicrafts to enjoy at home.
For Nur Aisyah, an MSME owner who participated in the bazaar, PT Timah's 49th anniversary became a moment to expand her market network and introduce her flagship products.
“We're very happy to be part of this MSME bazaar. Alhamdulillah, since this morning many visitors stopped by to try and buy our homemade snacks. Many PT Timah employees also bought our health honey,” she said.
At the bazaar, Nur Aisyah sold various products, including handmade photo frames, packaged snacks, and high-quality health honey.
She expressed her gratitude and hope to PT Timah for organizing the event and involving MSME players.
“Thank you very much to PT Timah for holding this event and involving us as MSME players. We hope events like this can be held more often because they really help us grow,” she said.
The MSME Bazaar as part of PT Timah's 49th anniversary series of events is a tangible proof of the company’s commitment to supporting the empowerment of the local economy, especially communities around its operational areas. Through this event, PT Timah continues to encourage the growth of small businesses to become more independent, competitive, and contribute to the regional economy.
