Support Cooperatives to Become Professional Partners, PT TIMAH Tbk Holds Various Technical Trainings Across Its Operational Areas

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting the growth of cooperatives so they can become strategic partners of the company. Through various development and capacity-building programs, PT TIMAH Tbk encourages cooperatives to improve their managerial competencies and governance practices.

This effort is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s strategy to build sustainable partnerships while strengthening local economies across its operational areas. Cooperatives are considered to play an important role as drivers of the local economy and as partners that support the company’s operational activities.

In its implementation, PT TIMAH Tbk provides training and mentoring programs focused on strengthening cooperative governance, administrative transparency, and improving service quality.

In addition, cooperatives are encouraged to understand applicable work standards and compliance requirements so they can meet the criteria to become company partners.

As one form of support to enhance cooperative capacity, in 2025 PT TIMAH Tbk organized a Technical Guidance Program (Bimtek) on Institutional Management and Business Supervision for supervisors and board members of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative in Karimun Regency.

The activity was attended by 142 participants who received insights into cooperative governance, internal control systems, and strengthened business management.

PT TIMAH Tbk also supported the Technical Guidance Program on Understanding the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) in Namang Village in 2025, organized by the Bangka Tengah District Attorney’s Office. This activity aimed to improve the understanding of cooperative administrators and members regarding legal aspects, compliance, and transparent cooperative management.

To expand its network of assisted cooperatives, the company also conducted a Cooperative Development Program through the Socialization of the Formation of PT TIMAH Tbk Partner Cooperatives, attended by 40 participants. This program introduced partnership standards, business governance, and opportunities for collaboration with the company.

PT TIMAH Tbk further collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperatives to conduct Governance and Supervision Training for Mining Cooperatives, attended by 68 participants. The training was designed to strengthen the capacity of cooperatives operating in the mining sector so they can run their businesses professionally and in accordance with regulations.

In addition to training programs, the company also provides cooperative development funds as tangible support for strengthening institutions and improving the business quality of its partner cooperatives.

PT TIMAH Tbk has also established cooperative service offices to make it easier for cooperatives seeking guidance and assistance to become company partners.

One of the Bimtek participants in Karimun, Agus Kurniawan, said the activity was very beneficial, particularly in helping them understand how to manage the Merah Putih cooperative in accordance with existing regulations.

“We are very pleased with this training because it provides valuable lessons so that we can manage the Merah Putih cooperative properly and create economic benefits for the community. At the beginning, there are certainly many challenges, and support like this is very much needed,” Agus said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cooperative Division of the Bangka Belitung Cooperative and SME Office, Sopiar, stated that the cooperative training conducted by PT TIMAH Tbk reflects synergy and joint efforts to accelerate the readiness of the cooperatives so they can carry out mining service businesses and eventually partner with PT TIMAH Tbk.

“We are also committed to helping cooperatives meet administrative requirements, including improving the human resources of cooperative administrators through training. We will facilitate capacity building for the administrators and focus first on strengthening their administration so they can meet the requirements,” he said while serving as a speaker at a cooperative training session held at PT TIMAH Tbk late last year.

Muntama, Chairman of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative in Gunung Muda Village, Belinyu District, Bangka Regency, expressed his gratitude for the training, which has improved their competencies so the cooperative can soon manage mining service businesses.

“We are very grateful for this training because it has increased our knowledge. It really helps us prepare to manage mining services, although there are still several administrative requirements that we need to complete,” he said.
