WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk supports the 'Governor Cup Open' Volleyball Championship which will be held in Daya Baru Hamlet, Belo Laut Village, Muntok District, West Bangka Regency.
The Governor's Cup Volleyball Championship will be held at the Dusun Daya Baru Volleyball Field, Belo Laut Village on October 29, which is planned to be opened directly by the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung Ridwan Djamaluddin.
PT Timah Tbk handed over funding assistance for the 'Governor Cup Open' volleyball tournament committee to make the event a success. This assistance was handed over by Head of Administration for the Metallurgical Unit Muntok Arif Yudianto to the chairman of the tournament committee Sapki Bahresi, Wednesday (12/10/2022).
This assistance is a form of PT Timah Tbk's commitment to supporting sports achievements in West Bangka Regency and efforts to support healthy movements by exercising.
The Chairperson of the Volleyball Championship Committee "Governor Cup Open" Sapki Bahresi explained that this championship was support for the program for the Governor of the Healthy Bangka Belitung Community.
With the aim of encouraging community sports activities, especially volleyball.
"Thanks to PT Timah for the assistance, hopefully, the assistance provided can be useful for the Healthy Bangka Belitung community and make this championship a success," he said.
Meanwhile, female volleyball athlete Ani admitted that she was happy that the Governor's Cup Open Volleyball Championship was held in her area.
"It's been a long time since we haven't played volleyball for two years because of the pandemic, so we are very happy to have this Championship held, thanks to the help of the Acting Governor and PT Timah, we hope that the championship will be held every year," he hoped.
Meanwhile, local community leader Samsidi said that in addition to sports assistance, PT Timah provided social assistance to the community in the hamlet.
"We are very grateful that PT Timah has provided a lot of assistance to the community, in addition to sports, there is assistance for mosques, houses for the community, assistance for the elderly, basic necessities, and much more," said the Volleyball coach of Dusun Daya Baru.
