Strengthening Security of National Vital Objects in the Company's IUP, PT Timah Tbk Holds a Sharing Session with the Regional Police Chief and the Acting Governor

PANGKALPINANG -- To increase the security of National Vital Objects within the company, PT Timah Tbk held a Timah Operation Series 3, Sharing Session with the theme 'Securing National Vital Objects' PT Timah Tbk' Mining Business Permit Area which was held at Graha Timah, Thursday (9/3/2023).

This sharing session presented the President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Achmad Ardianto, Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung Ridwan Djamaluddin, Kapolda Bangka Belitung Inspector General Pol Yan Southeast Sulawesi, and Commissioner of PT Timah Tbk Sufyan Syarif.

President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Achmad Ardianto said, PT Timah Tbk's Mining Business License is quite extensive, around 500 thousand hectares both on land and at sea. So it needs the cooperation of all parties to be able to carry out security for national vital objects.

"PT Timah Tbk, in addition to getting a mandate from the state to mine, but also safeguarding the country's assets. This activity strengthens Obvitnas security, in this case, PT Timah Tbk's IUP," he said.

According to him, securing Obvitnas, in this case, the company's IUP, aims to save the company's assets and tin ore reserves, especially from mining activities without a permit.\

"Securing this obvitnas we need to carry out prevention, deterrence, mitigation and law enforcement. PT Timah Tbk cannot do this alone. We need the support of all parties to jointly protect state assets," he said.

Achmad Ardianto said that his party would also strengthen the security of Obvitnas at the company's internal level through the Security Division.

"PT Timah Tbk cannot be alone because of limited capabilities and authority. For this, cooperation and support from several parties is needed, including the Regional Government and Law Enforcement Officials," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung, Ridwan Djamaluddin, said that PT Timah Tbk's Obvitnas security must be supported by universal security.

"If we look at today's conditions, it seems that obvitnas security really has to be universal security. I think this also needs to be campaigned for because there are many conflicting issues," he said.

He said that securing obvitnas required commitment from all parties and was carried out in a sustainable manner. Apart from that, security priority is needed considering PT Timah Tbk's extensive IUP.

"PT Timah Tbk suffers losses every year because its IUP is beaten by illegal mining. So this needs to be strengthened both internally and externally," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bangka Belitung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Yan Southeast Sulawesi said he was ready to support PT Timah Tbk's Obvitnas security efforts. This is because this is related to the main task of the police.

"We are ready to support PT Timah Tbk's Obvitnas security, we have also mapped out a security pattern because PT Timah Tbk's IUP is indeed wide, so we need priority areas," he said.

He said there were two factors that concerned them, such as illegal mining and strengthening internal security efforts.

"We are ready to work together with PT Timah Tbk to secure obvitnas," he said. (*)
