PANGKALPINANG -- In commemoration of the 117th National Awakening Day (Harkitnas), PT Timah held a solemn flag ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Pangkalpinang, attended by all employees and management on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
The ceremony was conducted in an orderly and respectful manner. This year's National Awakening Day carried the theme "Rise Together to Build a Strong Indonesia." The event began with the raising of the Indonesian flag by the flag-bearing team, followed by the recitation of the Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and a message from the ceremony inspector.
The event aimed to strengthen the spirit of nationalism, unity, and motivation to improve performance for the advancement of both the company and the nation.
PT Timah’s Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, served as the ceremony inspector and delivered the speech from the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Viada Hafid.
Nur Adi stated that awakening is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing effort, requiring us not to be trapped in the nostalgia of the past but to have the courage to face the challenges of our time—challenges that are far more complex, such as technological disruption, geopolitical tensions, global food crises, and threats to our digital sovereignty.
"During this National Awakening Day, we reaffirm the direction of our nation's journey. And in that spirit, the government has set the Asta Cita as the main compass for National Awakening—eight major missions aimed at creating real and tangible changes in people's lives," said Nur Adi as he delivered the minister’s message.
The National Awakening Day ceremony is expected to inspire all employees to continue working, collaborating, and upholding the spirit of unity. PT Timah remains committed to supporting national values and making a positive contribution to Indonesia.
