PANGKALPINANG -- The Fire and Rescue Team of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its readiness in assisting with the handling of various emergencies, both within the company’s operational areas and for communities in surrounding regions.
One of the rapid response actions took place on March 26, 2026, when the PT TIMAH Fire and Rescue Team was involved in responding to a residential fire in Pasir Putih, Pangkalpinang. During the incident, the team not only focused on extinguishing the fire but also carried out swift rescue and emergency assistance efforts.
In addition to handling fires, the PT TIMAH Fire and Rescue Team is also prepared to respond to various other emergency situations. This is part of the role of the company’s Emergency Response Group (ERG), which serves as the front line in disaster management.
PT TIMAH operates eight fire-fighting units equipped with certified technical personnel, making it one of the largest emergency response resources within the company’s operational areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.
In practice, the team has been involved in handling various incidents, such as forest fires in Belinyu and Sungailiat, as well as residential fires. Their presence represents a tangible contribution by the company in assisting communities during emergency situations.
The team’s capabilities are continuously enhanced through various trainings and competitions, including the Fire Rescue Challenge held during last month’s National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month commemoration.

Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, stated that the preparedness of the Fire and Rescue Team and ERG is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring operational safety while also contributing to the community.
“The Fire and Rescue Team is always on standby to assist in handling emergencies, both within the company and in the community. This is a form of the company’s social responsibility and care,” he said.
