PANGKALPINANG – In today's rapidly evolving digital era, PT Timah is continually working to raise employee awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.
Efforts to increase awareness among PT Timah employees about digital security include providing education, routine campaigns, and holding webinars. This time, the TINS Series: Corporate Services hosted a virtual event on Monday (7/10/2024) titled "Collective Action for Cybersecurity."
The webinar was designed to provide a deeper understanding of cyber risks and preventive measures that every employee should take to safeguard both company and personal data.
The event, opened by PT Timah's Finance and Risk Management Director, Fina Eliani, featured guest speakers such as Defenxor CEO Toto A Atmojo and MIND ID's Head of ICT and Digitalization, Widiya Kumoro.
Various topics were covered in this webinar, including common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, and ransomware, as well as methods to protect personal and company-sensitive information.
Employees were also encouraged to familiarize themselves with the company's cybersecurity policies, such as using strong passwords, regularly updating software, and being cautious when accessing suspicious emails or links.
PT Timah's Finance and Risk Management Director, Fina Eliani, highlighted that cyber threats are a very real concern today. Therefore, employees must heighten their awareness of protecting personal and company data.
Employees must understand essential cybersecurity principles, such as recognizing risks and threats, mitigating risks, and responding swiftly.
"By increasing awareness about cybersecurity, we can enhance our security and better protect the data we hold. Information security will positively impact the company's performance," she emphasized.
Defenxor CEO Toto A Atmojo, in the webinar, delivered key messages to PT Timah employees about managing passwords, recognizing phishing and social engineering, preventing phishing attacks, and more.
Meanwhile, MIND ID's Head of ICT and Digitalization, Widiya Kumoro, discussed cybersecurity trends within the MIND ID Group, the Elements of Cybersecurity Culture, and a Data Security and Privacy Checklist.
