Strengthening Corporate Governance, PT TIMAH Wins Two Awards at the 2026 TOP GRC Awards

JAKARTA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk received two awards at the 2026 TOP GRC Awards in recognition of the company’s implementation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) principles in its corporate governance practices.

PT TIMAH received the TOP GRC Awards 2026 #Star 5 in the corporate category, while President Director of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Restu Widiyantoro was named The Most Committed GRC Leader 2026. The awards were presented at the 2026 TOP GRC Awards ceremony held at Raffles Jakarta on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).

The TOP GRC Awards 2026 is an assessment and recognition program for the implementation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance in Indonesia. Entering its eighth year since its inception in 2019, this year’s event carried the theme “Sustainability by Design: A Journey Through Intelligent GRC.”

The theme emphasizes that sustainability principles should be embedded from the outset and integrated into corporate strategy, governance, decision-making, risk management, compliance, internal controls, business processes, organizational culture, as well as the use of data and technology.

The event was organized by TOP Business Magazine in collaboration with the Indonesian GRC Association, the Indonesia Risk Management Professional Association (IRMAPA), the Institute of Compliance Professional Indonesia (ICoPI), the Indonesian Governance Professionals Association (PaGI), and LKN Astacita.

PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Corporate Secretary Division Head Ruddy Nursalam said the awards serve as motivation for the company to continue its transformation and strengthen GRC implementation across all areas of the organization.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to improve corporate governance, PT TIMAH continues to transform and strengthen the implementation of GRC throughout the company. GRC is not merely about compliance; it is an essential part of ensuring that business processes operate effectively and measurably while enabling the company to manage various risks,” Ruddy said.

According to him, GRC implementation continues to be aligned with evolving business conditions and the challenges facing the company. Stronger governance enables the company to make more measured decisions while enhancing stakeholder trust.

“These awards are both a recognition and a motivation for us to continue improving the quality of our governance, risk management, and compliance. Going forward, we will continue to ensure that GRC is integrated into our business processes and supports the achievement of sustainable corporate performance,” he said.

Chairman of the 2026 TOP GRC Awards Organizing Committee and Editor-in-Chief of TOP Business Magazine M. Lutfi Handayani said the awards process is designed not only to recognize companies but also to provide a platform for learning and evaluating GRC implementation.

“An award is a form of recognition. However, the assessment and judging process must also provide added value in the form of insights and an improvement agenda. We hope participants will not only ask how many stars they have received, but also where they stand in terms of GRC maturity, what gaps remain, and what needs to be improved,” Lutfi said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the 2026 TOP GRC Awards Jury Dr. Antonius Alijoyo, ERMCP., CERG., explained that the concept of Intelligent GRC goes beyond simply digitizing document management.

According to him, Intelligent GRC emphasizes the appropriate use of data, technology, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate risk identification, improve the effectiveness of controls, and support decision-making processes.

“The journey toward Intelligent GRC is about making GRC increasingly integrated with the business. It is a shift from merely fulfilling obligations toward GRC that provides insights, supports strategic decision-making, strengthens resilience, and creates sustainable value,” Antonius explained. (*)
