BANGKA SELATAN – PT Timah continues to spread joy and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri by providing aid to hundreds of orphans across its operational areas.
In South Bangka, for instance, during the Safari Ramadan event attended by PT Timah’s President Director, Ahmad Dani Virsal, along with the Deputy Regent of South Bangka, the company distributed aid to 350 orphans at PT Timah’s South Bangka Area Office on Friday (March 21, 2025).
This initiative is part of PT Timah’s Social and Environmental Responsibility Program, aimed at sharing happiness and alleviating the burdens of orphans as they observe fasting and prepare for Eid al-Fitr.
One of the orphanages receiving aid from PT Timah is Yayasan Muslim Toboali Bunda Fatma Alwi. Mindi Rosa, the foundation’s caretaker, stated that their orphanage frequently receives assistance from PT Timah to support the needs of the orphans.
Not only during Ramadan, but PT Timah also regularly helps by providing school supplies, basic necessities, and financial aid for the orphanage.
"We are extremely grateful for PT Timah’s assistance. Almost every year, we receive support from them," she said.
Furthermore, she mentioned that the children at the orphanage are always excited whenever they hear about PT Timah’s assistance.
"The children are overjoyed whenever they hear about aid from PT Timah. I hope PT Timah continues to thrive so it can keep supporting those in need," she expressed.
In addition to providing aid to 350 orphans, PT Timah also distributed 950 basic food packages to the elderly, scholarships to seven tahfiz students, and educational scholarships to 20 outstanding children of PT Timah employees. (*)
