WEST BANGKA – A group of children in Mayang Village, Simpang Teritip District, West Bangka Regency, listened attentively as PT Timah's Agent Team narrated a story as part of the Sobat Aksi Ramadan 2025 activities at Al-Muktibin Prayer Room on Friday, March 14, 2025.
The children were captivated by the storytelling session, which featured a tale about a donkey and a young boy. The warm atmosphere was further enhanced by interactive games and gift-giving, bringing happiness and excitement to the event.
Sobat Aksi Ramadan 2025, an initiative by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), aims to spread joy, foster compassion, and strengthen the relationship between SOEs and communities across Indonesia, including in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
Through storytelling and coloring activities, the program also encourages children to love their local prayer rooms (musala) and to see them as spaces for various positive activities.
PT Timah has long supported the Al-Muktibin Prayer Room. In 2022, the company helped renovate the facility, ensuring a more comfortable place of worship for the community.
The Sobat Aksi Ramadan event in Mayang Village included A community cleanup at the musala, Storytelling and coloring activities, Donations for orphans, and Food package distribution for the elderly
This initiative aligns with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita Vision, particularly the 8th mission, which focuses on social harmony and interfaith tolerance.
One of the aid recipients, Ahza Varo (4), a student at Raflesia Early Childhood Education Center, expressed her happiness after receiving school supplies and financial assistance.
"Alhamdulillah, I’m happy to get books, crayons, and money to buy Eid clothes," she said.
Similarly, Siti Hartati Rusma Wati, a 5th-grade student at SDN 1 Simpang Teritip, enjoyed the event.
"Besides the story about the donkey and the boy, we got school supplies, a drinking bottle, and an envelope. This is my first time receiving gifts at a musala—it feels like school," she shared.
Meanwhile, M. Hafis (11), a student at SDN 1 Simpang Teritip, hoped PT Timah would continue organizing such events in his village.
"It was fun! We gathered with friends, listened to stories, and received gifts. Please come here often—I enjoy going to the musala," he said.
Juhari, Chairman of Al-Muktibin Prayer Room, noted the positive impact of the event, as more children were drawn to the musala.
"Alhamdulillah, this event has a great impact on the children. They come together at the musala, excited about learning, playing, and worshiping. Thank you, PT Timah, for helping to bring life to our prayer room," he said. (*)
