BANGKA BARAT – Dozens of young children from Santa Maria Mentok Kindergarten, along with their teachers and parents, received education on the benefits, dangers, and methods for extinguishing fires from PT Timah Tbk's Fire Brigade Team.
On Thursday (24/10/2024), 91 Santa Maria Kindergarten students learned about fire-fighting tools, how to put out fires with wet sacks, and how to use fire extinguishers with guidance from PT Timah's Fire Brigade Team.
Santa Maria Kindergarten teacher Restu Hutasoit appreciated PT Timah's support, saying, "We wanted the children to witness firsthand the benefits of fire extinguishers and learn simple fire prevention techniques they can use in an emergency."
Evrina Br Hombing, a parent, praised the event and said her child enjoyed the educational and entertaining experience. "The kids were excited and engaged—they learned about fire safety and got to play with water. It was also fun for them to ride the fire truck and be guided by PT Timah's Fire Brigade Team."
One of the students, Maria, shared her mixed feelings, saying, "I'm scared of fire, but I enjoyed playing with water and riding in the fire truck."
Another student, Ranasya, added, "It was so much fun spraying water to put out the fire, with help from the fire truck team!" (*)
