PANGKALPINANG -- After years of living with an infection affecting the inner part of his eardrum, Jaimin (57), a resident of Cambai Village, Central Bangka Regency, has faced a long journey to receive the medical treatment he needs. Amid financial constraints, the cost of surgery and medical care outside the region has posed an additional challenge for his family.
Financial assistance from PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has helped ease the burden on Jaimin’s family. The assistance is being used to support his medical needs, including expenses and accommodation while he undergoes treatment and surgery at a hospital in Palembang.
Jaimin’s wife, Sri Yuliantini (52), said her husband has been suffering from the condition for approximately six years. Based on medical recommendations, Jaimin requires further treatment through surgery.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful and thankful for the assistance from PT TIMAH. This support means so much to us, as our family cannot afford the cost of my husband’s surgery and treatment in Palembang,” Sri Yuliantini said.
Sri Yuliantini said she had sought assistance from various parties and government agencies in an effort to secure treatment for her husband. However, those efforts had not produced the results the family had hoped for.
The family’s financial situation has also been a challenge. Jaimin, who works odd jobs, uses most of his income to meet the family’s daily needs. Meanwhile, the cost of medical treatment and travel outside the region is considerable for the family.
PT TIMAH’s assistance has provided important support for Jaimin’s family, allowing him to continue the treatment process that had previously been delayed due to financial constraints. Beyond helping with expenses, the support has also given the family renewed hope that Jaimin can receive the medical care he needs.
Sri Yuliantini hopes that her husband’s surgery and entire course of treatment in Palembang will proceed smoothly. She hopes Jaimin will recover soon so he can return to his daily activities and resume his life as before.
“I hope my husband’s treatment goes smoothly and that he can recover soon. I am very grateful to PT TIMAH for being willing to help people like us who are in need. I hope PT TIMAH will continue to be there for communities that need assistance,” she said. (*)
