PANGKALPINANG — Through its Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK), PT TIMAH has continuously supported the development of MSMEs within the company’s operational areas.
From 2000 to 2025, PT TIMAH has provided financial support to 10,289 MSMEs spread across various regions in Indonesia, particularly within the company’s operational areas.
The PUMK program is one of PT TIMAH’s efforts to encourage community economic growth while strengthening the capacity of MSME players so they can grow and move to the next level.
Through this financial assistance, PT TIMAH not only helps business owners develop their enterprises but also supports job creation and improves community welfare.
In addition to providing financial support, PT TIMAH actively conducts coaching programs for MSME players through various training sessions, business mentoring, and product promotions at exhibitions and other events.
Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the PUMK program is part of the company’s commitment to supporting economic empowerment in communities within its operational areas.
“PT TIMAH continues to support MSME growth through sustainable funding and development programs. MSMEs play an important role in driving the community economy; they need to be supported so they can grow stronger and more independent,” said Anggi.
According to him, the PUMK program also represents one of the company’s contributions in creating a multiplier effect for society.
“Not only does PT TIMAH provide business capital assistance, but the company also encourages MSME players to improve product quality and expand market reach to enhance competitiveness,” he said.
The MSMEs receiving financial support from PT TIMAH operate in various sectors such as trade, industry, services, fisheries, livestock, agriculture, plantations, cooperatives, and creative industries.
Yuliana, one of PT TIMAH’s fostered partners, said she has gained many benefits from being part of the program. Besides improving access to capital, the program has also helped enhance business capacity through training programs and product promotion opportunities.
“In addition to receiving capital support, we are also assisted through training activities that broaden our knowledge. We are involved in various exhibitions, and PT TIMAH often purchases our products for company events,” said the owner of White Pepper ‘Pak Umar’.
She hopes PT TIMAH will continue supporting MSMEs so they can keep growing, become more independent, and create employment opportunities. (*)
