PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah continues to strive to spread benefits to the community in the Company's operational areas. During last Ramadan, members of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding carried out several social activities.
A series of social activities carried out in the month of Ramadan included compensation for orphans and the needy. Apart from that, PT Timah also provides educational costs for Quran reciters in the company's operational areas.
A total of 200 orphans and poor people are spread across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province. It is hoped that this compensation will be useful for people who want to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
Apart from that, PT Timah also provided educational assistance for 22 Tahfiz Qurans in the Company's operational areas.
This compensation and assistance was carried out in the activity entitled 'Ramadan Harmony, Knitting Unity and Sharing Happiness' which was held simultaneously with the Ramadan Safari for Directors and Commissioners.
The recipients of compensation and assistance from PT Timah felt directly the benefits of PT Timah's social activities. So that they can celebrate Eid with joy.
As expressed by Rafa Al Maliki, one of the residents of Bencah Village, South Bangka Regency, said that he was very happy to receive assistance from PT Timah.
"I'm happy to receive this compensation because later I can buy Eid clothes," he said some time ago when receiving compensation from PT Timah at the South Bangka Guest House.
Rafa said that he had also received compensation several times from PT Timah, which he usually used to help his mother meet her daily needs.
It's just that at the Moment of Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr, Rafa will use this donation from PT Timah to buy new clothes. He admitted that he didn't have new clothes yet.
"I don't have new clothes yet, thank you PT Timah for providing compensation so later I can also wear new clothes," he said.
Likewise, Tahfiz Quran, who received compensation from PT Timah Sabita (13), also admitted that he was happy because PT Timah had shared with Tahfiz Quran.
According to him, this is his motivation to demand and deepen his knowledge of reading the Koran.
"I'm so happy that when I get closer to Eid, I get help from PT Timah, which makes me more enthusiastic about deepening and memorizing the Al-Quran. Hopefully, PT Timah will be victorious and will be more advanced and useful for Tahfiz," said Sabita. (*)
