BANGKA -- PT Timah (Persero) Tbk once again distributed donations to orphans during its Ramadan Safari event held in the North Bangka Area, Belinyu, Bangka Regency, on Monday (March 2, 2026).
Previously, PT Timah had also provided assistance to orphans during a Ramadan Safari event held in Pemali, Bangka Regency, last week. This support is one of the company’s commitments to sharing blessings during the holy month of Ramadan.
The donations were symbolically handed over by PT Timah’s President Commissioner Agus Rohman, Commissioner Rizani Usman, Director of Operations Handy Geniardi, Director of Finance and Risk Management Fina Eliani, Division Head of North Bangka Area Rahendra, along with PT Timah employees and members of the local community who received the assistance.
The Ramadan Safari is not only an occasion for giving, but also a way to strengthen the bonds of friendship and connection between the company and the community.
In his remarks, PT Timah President Commissioner Agus Rohman said that the essence of fasting is not merely refraining from food and drink, but also fostering compassion for others and strengthening one’s responsibility as a human being, both to the Creator and to the environment and fellow people.
“I hope that wherever we are, the community can feel the presence of Timah as something they long for, not a burden. This is our shared pride, that Bangka Belitung has extraordinary natural tin resources,” he said.
Affan, one of the beneficiaries, said he was very happy to join the iftar gathering at PT Timah because it was lively and fun, and he was grateful to receive assistance.
“It was fun breaking the fast with PT Timah. It was crowded, there was a lot of delicious food, and I’m happy to receive the donation,” he said.
Similarly, Asnawi (63), a resident of Bukit Tani, Belinyu, expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by PT Timah to his grandchild.
“Alhamdulillah, today my grandchild received assistance from PT Timah, and this is the second year he has received help from PT Timah. I hope that PT Timah’s presence will continue to support those in need and help more people in the community,” he said.
