KARIMUN -- Behind the calm and peaceful atmosphere of a mosque, there is a figure who often goes unnoticed. Yet without their presence, the house of worship might not remain as clean and orderly as it is. They are the mosque caretakers, the quiet guardians who faithfully take care of the house of Allah every day.
Every day, before the first congregation arrives, the mosque floor is already clean, the lights are turned on, and the call to prayer is ensured to be heard on time. All of this is the result of the sincerity of the caretakers who carry out their duties wholeheartedly.
As a form of appreciation for the role of mosque caretakers in the company’s operational areas, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, through its Ramadan Safari program, provided assistance to mosque caretakers.
In Kundur, PT TIMAH handed over assistance to mosque caretakers directly by Deputy President Director Harry Budi Sidartha and PT TIMAH Tbk Commissioner Rizani Usman. The handover was witnessed by the General Manager for the Kundur and Belitung area, the Chairman of the Timah Employees Association (IKT) Riki Febriansyah, section heads within PT TIMAH, social assistance recipients, and employees of PT TIMAH Tbk.
One of the recipients, Sudarno, a caretaker of Nurul Jami’ Mosque in Prayun Village, North Kundur District, Karimun Regency, expressed his happiness at receiving attention from PT TIMAH. He said Ramadan is the right moment for the company to share blessings with communities around its operational areas.
“As a mosque caretaker, I would like to thank PT TIMAH for its participation. This is a form of PT TIMAH’s concern for us caretakers whose mosques are located around the company’s operational areas,” he said.
He hopes that assistance like this can continue in the future and reach a wider community.
Through the Ramadan Safari activity, Sudarno also prayed for PT TIMAH to become more successful in its endeavors.
“May PT TIMAH continue to succeed and prosper in all its efforts and continue to care for and support communities around the company,” he said.
Through this Ramadan Safari program, the company hopes to maintain good relations with the community while also providing tangible benefits for those who have long played a role in maintaining the spiritual life of society—the mosque caretakers who faithfully care for places of worship every day.
