PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk in the first half of 2022 deposited a tax contribution and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of Rp1.196 Trillion to the State.
The soaring tax payments and PNBP of PT Timah Tbk were driven by the high price of tin commodities in the first semester of 2022 with an average price of 41,110 USD/Mton. The amount of this tax deposit increased by about 400 percent from the same period in 2021, which was Rp. 234.6 billion.
The increase in tax and PNBP contributions from PT Timah Tbk was due to an increase in the amount of corporate income tax. In the first semester of 2022, PT Timah Tbk managed to record a profit of Rp1,082 billion.
In addition, PT Timah Tbk this year also distributed dividends to shareholders of Rp455 billion or 35 percent of the company's profits.
Improvements in the governance of the tin industry also affect the increase in taxes, PT Timah Tbk through a partnership pattern embraces the community to mine in the company's concession area, so that mining communities who partner with PT Timah Tbk also carry out their tax obligations.
"PT Timah Tbk's tax and PNBP contribution in the first semester of 2022 reached Rp1.196 trillion. The improvement in the company's performance is certainly in line with the company's contribution to the state," said the Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk, Abdullah Umar.
Abdullah said that his party is optimistic that tax payments and PNBP to the state will continue to rise until the end of the book in 2022. Although he does not deny that the price of tin commodities is less than encouraging in the second half of this year.
"The management of the company seeks to improve performance so that it can contribute to the state, shareholders and society," Abdullah said.
