PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk until the third quarter of 2022 has contributed to the state in the form of taxes and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of IDR 1,39 Trillion to the Government.
The number of tax payments and PNBP members of the Indonesia MIND ID mining holding increased by 196 percent compared to the same period in 2021 of IDR 445,4 billion.
The increase in PT Timah Tbk's tax contribution and PNBP until the third quarter of 2022 was due to the rise in PPh 29 (corporate income tax) and income tax 25 (corporate income tax installments) with the improved financial performance of PT Timah Tbk in 2022.
Until the third quarter of 2022, PT Timah Tbk managed to record a profit of IDR 1,14 trillion. The improved financial performance was driven by the increase in the selling price of refined tin, efficiency in the entire business chain, decreased interest-bearing debt, and consistent improving the performance of non-tin segment subsidiaries.
Improving the governance of the tin industry also affects increasing taxes. PT Timah Tbk through a partnership pattern embraces the community to mine in the company's concession areas so that the mining communities that partner with PT Timah Tbk also carry out their tax obligations.
"PT Timah Tbk's tax and non-tax contribution to the third quarter of 2022 reached IDR 1,39 trillion. The improved company performance is in line with the company's contribution to the state," said PT Timah Tbk Corporate Secretary, Abdullah Umar.
Abdullah said that even though tin prices have decreased in the second half of 2022, PT Timah Tbk is optimistic that PT Timah Tbk's tax and PNBP contribution to the state will continue to increase until the book closes in 2022.
"The company's management is trying to improve performance so that it can contribute to the state, shareholders, and society," said Abdullah.
In addition to contributing to the state, PT Timah Tbk consistently implements CSR programs for communities in the company's operational areas to support economic development and community empowerment.
