Run the AGETASI Program in Burung Mandi Village, PT TIMAH Tbk Wins Awards in the 2022 CSR and Sustainable Village Development Awards

JAKARTA - PT Timah Tbk Batu Besi Primary Tin Production Unit won the Silver category award at the 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Village Development (PDB) Awards organized by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia.

The award was handed over directly by the Minister of Villages PD TT Dr. (HC.) Drs. H. A. Halim Iskandar, MPd to the Head of Production Control Planning (P2P) for the Belitung Product Unit (UPB), Heri Haryanto at the Ballroom JS Luwansa Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (23/6/2022). This activity was also attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma'ruf Amin.

PT Timah Tbk Batu Besi Primary Tin Production Unit won this award because it has contributed to the acceleration of village development in achieving SDG's through Village Owned Enterprises and Other CSR Programs through the Integrated Agro Edutourism (AGETASI) program in Burong Mandi Village, Damar District, East Belitung Regency.

The AGETASI program was initiated because PT Timah Tbk, the Batu Besi Primary Tin Production Unit, wanted to convert post-mining land into more useful, productive, and green land. This is, in the context of implementing the strategic initiatives of the RIPP pro-climate environmental management program, creating harmonious relationships with the community and other stakeholders.

In addition, PT Timah Tbk also strives to empower the community by helping to develop the community's economic independence.

PT Timah Tbk is continuously committed to community growth and development, so PT Timah Tbk synergizes with the community to build a village according to its potential.

Minister of Villages PD TT Dr. (HC.) Drs. H. A. Halim Iskandar said, at the launch of Bumdesa as a new legal entity, President Ri Joko Widodo directed firmly that state and private companies operating in villages should include Bumdesa and Bumdesa together in their economic activities.

"The goal is to make the village economy go even faster, one form of cooperation is specifically CSR activities that are able to support, succeed in developing villages in a sustainable manner," he said.

According to him, this award is a form of appreciation to various parties who through CSR have supported the development of rural communities. The awards include two categories, namely corporate social responsibility and the development of Bumdesa.

"Kite together have carried out a careful assessment, taking into account the impact of the program," he explained.

Meanwhile, the 13th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma'ruf Amin said that this award is expected to foster motivation for BUMN and private sector to support the development of Bumdes through CSR programs.

"It is hoped that it can encourage efforts to empower rural communities," he explained.

Because, village development is the center of Indonesia's development stakes in the future, if the village is strong and independent then the dream of advanced Indonesia will be more easily realized.

"Currently, the village is the starting point for leveraging the community's economic recovery, so that the government encourages the village economy to continue to move," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Corporate Communications of PT Timah Tbk Anggi Siahaan said, this award will be a motivation for PT Timah Tbk to continue to contribute to building the community in the company's operational areas.

In addition, PT Timah Tbk synergizes with the community to mobilize the village's potential so that it has an economic impact on the community. So, it is hoped that the community around the mine can be economically independent.

"PT Timah Tbk grows and develops with the community, because PT Timah Tbk is part of the community. For this reason, PT Timah Tbk continues to contribute to the development of village potential and community empowerment," he said.

The 2022 Awards acceptance program is the inaugural event that will continue to be held every year, this time the award recipients are 63 state-owned companies, private companies and 1 foundation.
