TANJUNG BATU -- PT Timah Tbk's Micro Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) targets various business actors, including business actors in the service sector. One of the fostered partners who runs a business in the service sector is Riyan, a resident of Tanjung Batu Barat Village, Kundur District, Karimun Regency.
Riyan has been running a barber shop or better known as this barber shop since five years ago. However, this business was stagnant due to limited equipment.
He said that even his business experienced ups and downs, but he never gave up so he continued to run his business.
"It's called a business, you definitely want to progress and develop, but everything is not as easy as expected and seen. It takes patience, tenacity and never giving up on various challenges," he said.
According to him, the issue of capital is one of the obstacles to developing his business. So he took advantage of PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program with the intention of wanting to develop his business.
At the end of 2021, Riyan received a capital loan from PT Timah Tbk, this capital was immediately used to buy his barber shop equipment,
"I used the capital injection to buy equipment and other equipment, such as seats and others," he said.
He is grateful that after having a lot of equipment to support his business, many customers keep coming because they feel more comfortable.
"Alhamdulillah, since the equipment is complete and the customers are comfortable, the longer the customers who come also increase, especially when it's the season for children to go to school and want Eid al-Fitr, we also get blessings because customers also increase," he explained.
With the progress of this business, he plans to open one more branch to expand his business.
Riyan feels the many benefits he gets by becoming a foster partner of PT Timah Tbk, apart from getting capital support he can also develop his business.
"I personally have experienced the benefits of this program which is very good and helpful. Especially for small business actors like me. Hopefully it will continue in the future because this helps business actors who want to develop their business," he stated.
