PANGKALPINANG - Health is one of the focuses of PT Timah in implementing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Various programs are carried out to support and improve the quality of public health.
One of the CSR programs conducted by PT Timah to enhance the quality of public health is the implementation of the Mobile Health Unit and financial assistance for medical expenses in mining areas. As a member of the mining industry holding MIND ID, PT Timah has provided financial assistance for medical treatment to 43 residents in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and Riau Islands Province.
This medical cost assistance is one way PT Timah alleviates the financial burden of individuals undergoing medical treatment. Through this aid, PT Timah aims to assist individuals facing health issues, demonstrating care for the communities in mining areas.
M Yulhaidir, the Head of the Department of Social Welfare, Women Empowerment, and Child Protection in East Belitung Regency, expressed his admiration for PT Timah's medical cost assistance program. According to Yulhaidir, PT Timah's CSR program significantly contributes to bringing services closer to the community, providing valuable and directly felt assistance to those in need.
Similarly, one of the beneficiaries of medical cost assistance, Sarini, from Kundur Utara, expressed her appreciation for PT Timah's assistance for her daughter Zahra. With this support, they plan to travel to Jakarta to continue Zahra's treatment.
"I feel like I'm dreaming of receiving assistance from PT Timah for Zahra. Thank you for this assistance," she said.
Nia Vania (29), a resident of West Bangka, also expressed immense happiness upon receiving medical cost assistance for her 3-year-old son Kenzio.
Kenzio is diagnosed with a heart condition and is scheduled for surgery next May. Despite the economic challenges faced by the family, they are grateful for the support from PT Timah.
"We express our sincere thanks to PT Timah for the assistance for our child. This aid will be utilized for the needs when Kenzio undergoes surgery at the hospital in Jakarta," she concluded. (*)"
