Residents of Baskara Bakti Village Flock to PT Timah's Healthy Car, Free Health Services Expected

CENTRAL BANGKA - The presence of PT Timah's Healthy Car in Baskara Bakti Village, Namang District, Central Bangka Regency was welcomed enthusiastically by the community who came to get free health services.

The health service from PT Timah was held at the Multipurpose Building (GSG) of Baskara Bakti Village, Wednesday (26/02/2025) and was utilized by various groups to get their health checked.

Sumiyati (48), one of the residents who participated in the health check-up appreciated the health service from PT Timah Tbk. She who has several health complaints can consult directly with the doctor.

“I have fever, headache and earache. Alhamdullillah, I was given medicine and the doctor also gave an explanation, the service was good,” she said.

The woman who works as a tin panner said she would return for a health check if PT Timah's Healthy Car came back to their village.

“If the healthy car comes to our village next time, I will come to get my medical check-up again, because it is better to prevent than to cure,” she said.

Similar to Sumiyati, Fauzi (63) also said that it was his first time to have his health checked in the health car. He has several health complaints such as shortness of breath and coughing.

In addition, thanks to the health check, he just found out that he suffered from a disease that he had never felt before.

“After being examined, I was given medicine for several complaints. In addition, I also just found out that there are indications of having gout, this way I can control my diet,” he explained.

“We hope PT Timah can continue to help relieve the community, both fishermen and farmers,” said Fauzi.

Meanwhile, Baskara Bakti Village Head Bahtiar Efendi appreciated the presence of PT Timah's Healthy Car in their village. Moreover, this is not the first time the Healthy Car has served the community.

In the future, Bahtiar hopes that PT Timah can collaborate in various other aspects such as MSME activities, food security and other sectors.

“In today's very difficult economic conditions, the community is also greatly helped by this free medical examination activity. We also hope that this activity can become a routine for PT Timah in our village,” he said. (*)
