Residents invaded the Selinsing Reclamation Village During the Eid Holiday, Thousands of Visitors Passed Two Days

BELITUNG TIMUR - Selinsing Reclamation Village is one of the recreation options for the community during Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijriah. The ex-mining land area managed by PT Timah Tbk and BUMDes Selinsing was visited by thousands of people.

The ex-mining land which has been transformed into an edu eco tourism area has its own charm for the community. Because during this Eid holiday, the number of visitors increased significantly.

The head of the Selinsing BUMDes, Diki Apriansyah, said that during the two days, they had been operating this Eid season, thousands of people had visited them.

"The number of visitors for these two days is approximately 1,000 people with 600 tickets sold," said Diki Apriansyah.

This tourist area, which carries the concept of agro-edu tourism, is a former mining area transformed into an attractive tourist destination. Visitors can see firsthand agriculture, animal husbandry, and plantations, and can enjoy water tourism.

During this holiday season, there can be up to 50-100 people visiting Kampoeng Reclamation Selinsing every day, while on weekends there can be up to 500 people.

"The average number of visitors is around 70 percent from Belitung Regency, and the activities carried out are relaxing with family by utilizing existing facilities at Selinssing Reclamation Village such as photo spots, gazebos and water rides," he explained.

According to Diki, the existence of this tourist destination has a huge impact, both for the local community and people from other sub-districts or regencies, namely they have new options for recreation with a different atmosphere from previous years which did present an open nature atmosphere.

"Kampong Reclamation is very suitable for moments with family, while for Mitra Jaya Selinsing BUMDes, the impact of this Eid momentum is clear, namely being able to increase income after one month of fasting, you can be sure there will be no income other than entrance tickets," he explained.

Then they ensure that visitor safety is their concern, so they always urge visitors to be careful when traveling.

He explained they prepared good facilities and infrastructure from the surrounding environment such as gazebos, photo spots, traditional houses, canteens, prayer rooms, toilets, and water rides which are facilities that can be utilized by the community and are quite adequate.

In fact, the community generally responded very well to all the existing facilities.

"As the manager, we have some input from visitors to provide other facilities such as opening a floating canteen and there are some visitors who hope to build a special swimming pool for children," he stated. (*)
