Residents Flock Since Early Morning, PT TIMAH Provides Free Medical Services in Mentok

WEST BANGKA -- Residents of Mentok District, West Bangka Regency, showed strong enthusiasm in utilizing the free healthcare services provided through PT TIMAH’s Mobile Health Unit.

Since early morning, people had already gathered at the location of the free medical service organized by PT TIMAH at the Basketball Court of Bina Karya Foundation, Sungaibaru Village, Mentok, West Bangka Regency, Thursday (April 2, 2026).

In fact, even before the service officially began at 8:00 AM, residents had arrived earlier and were willing to queue to receive medical check-ups and free treatment.

The activity was also attended by Sub Division Head of Processing and Refinery at PT TIMAH, Kopdi Saragih, along with Sungaibaru Village Head Sudirman and Bhabinkamtibmas officer Aipda Mardian, who directly greeted the community.

One of the residents from Tegalrejo, Heriyani, expressed that she was greatly helped by the presence of the Mobile Health Unit in her neighborhood. According to her, the program makes it easier for the community to detect health conditions early.

“Alhamdulillah, this program is very good. We can detect illnesses early, the service is also good, and it is very beneficial because it is close to home,” she said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Sardi (72), a local resident and retired PT TIMAH employee. He said he came to check his health condition, especially his diabetes.

“Usually I have to travel far for treatment, but now it’s closer and easier. I want to check my health because I have a history of diabetes, especially after my toe surgery. This program is very helpful,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Moriyana (49), Head of RT Kampung Jawa Baru, said the Mobile Health program is highly anticipated by residents. She noted that many people came early in the morning to take advantage of services such as cholesterol, blood sugar, and uric acid checks.

“The program is very good, that’s why so many residents come. Especially after Eid, we want to check our health and also get medicine. We hope this activity can be held regularly, at least once a month,” she said.

Sungaibaru Village Head, Sudirman, also expressed appreciation for the free healthcare service provided by PT TIMAH. According to him, the program brings significant benefits to the community in raising awareness about the importance of maintaining health.

“We would like to thank PT TIMAH for this service. Residents can find out their health conditions and, if necessary, continue with further treatment. This is very helpful because the service is provided free of charge,” he said.
