PANGKALPINANG -- Student enthusiasm for joining the PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk Scholarship Class Program for the 2026/2027 academic year continues to grow. Since registration opened on March 2, 2026, a total of 122 students have applied.
Applicants for the PT TIMAH Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali come from various regions, particularly the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.
This scholarship class program is part of PT TIMAH’s initiative to support the improvement of human resource quality through equitable and sustainable access to education.
In addition to providing educational facilities, the program also emphasizes character building, discipline, and leadership through a boarding school system known as Pemali Boarding School.
The program, which began in 2000, has produced hundreds of alumni who are now contributing across various fields. It is one of the company’s commitments to realizing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045.
One of the scholarship students, Naurah Ashira, expressed her gratitude for being part of the program. She has experienced many benefits, both academically and in character development.
“I am very grateful to be part of this program. I have gained many positive things, from motivation to achieve to developing an honest and responsible character,” she said.
According to her, the boarding school environment provides valuable experiences in building independence and discipline. Adequate facilities and a conducive learning atmosphere also support improved academic performance.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Ares Mahesa. He believes that the Pemali Boarding School program not only supports academic development but also provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
“This program offers many facilities such as English tutoring, additional lessons, and organizational platforms that help enhance leadership abilities,” he said.
Ares added that the program has had a significant impact on character development, making students more disciplined, independent, and creative. Various educational needs are also supported, allowing students to focus more on their studies.
He emphasized that this program is a very valuable opportunity that should not be missed, especially for students who have potential but limited access to education.
He also encouraged prospective applicants to make the most of this opportunity. Mental readiness and clear goals are key to participating in the program optimally.
The PT TIMAH Scholarship Class Program is expected to continue producing outstanding young generations who are competitive and ready to face challenges at higher levels of education. (*)
