This scholarship program provides opportunities for students from the Provinces of Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau Islands, and Riau to receive a high school education scholarship at SMAN 1 Pemali.
The scholarship is intended for high-achieving students from low-income families. This year, a total of 36 students will be selected for the Scholarship Class program.
Applicants will go through several stages of selection, including administrative screening, field surveys, academic potential tests, psychological tests, interviews, clinical psychological analysis, document validation, and health examinations.
The PT TIMAH Scholarship Class Program is one of the company’s strategic efforts to provide access to quality education for the younger generation, particularly in its operational areas.
Through this program, participants will receive both academic development and character-building support to prepare them to become competitive and high-quality individuals.
Since its inception in 2000, the program has produced hundreds of alumni who are now contributing across various fields. It represents one of the company’s commitments to supporting Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045 vision.
The Principal of SMAN 1 Pemali, Eflina, explained that there are several important requirements that must be met by prospective students who wish to participate in the selection process.
From an academic standpoint, applicants are required to have a minimum report card score of 75 in several specified subjects determined by the selection committee. In addition, participants must prepare themselves for psychological and academic potential tests.
“Academic preparation is important, but equally important is their emotional and psychological readiness. Boarding school is different from regular school, especially since these students come from different regions and will live in dormitories,” she explained.
Physical health is also an important consideration in the selection process, given that students will undergo intensive learning and development activities in a boarding school environment.
She encouraged prospective students to have a strong learning spirit and greater determination compared to others.
“They must already have a vision for their future from the beginning—where they want to go, what their goals are, and what steps they need to take during their education. This is very important. Students are also expected to be more independent, disciplined, and have a clear plan for their future,” she said. (*)
