TANJUNGPANDAN – To reduce the cost of medical treatment for the community, this time PT Timah Tbk handed back over medical assistance for residents of Kampong Damai Village, Tanjungpandan, Belitung Regency who suffered from breast cancer, Avelina Jol Jendi, Monday (14/2/2022).
Avelina Jol Jendi is currently undergoing treatment in Jakarta, so her assistance was handed over to her brother Tugaweruing, or called Mak Yen.
Tugaweruing said that Avelina had been suffering from breast cancer for a long time, and had even been taken for treatment in Flores, which is her hometown. However, she eventually returned to Belitung."In Flores, it took about 8 months, and because there was no cure, plus a pandemic outbreak, so I returned to Belitung," said Tugaweruing.
According to him, about four days after returning from Flores, the pain reappeared, so they returned to got a treatment to the Marsidi Judono Regional Hospital, but they referred to Jakarta, because at that time she has been sentenced to stage 2.
"In Jakarta, she was in a Mes, almost five months and she was going to chemotherapy for the fourth time, but now she has been sentenced to the fourth stage," he explained.
Even though the patient has been sentenced to stage 4, she still enthusiastic about seeking the treatment. So the family try to continues their help to find funds for her treatment.
Mak Yen said that his sister had to undergo chemotherapy for 10 times, while each chemotherapy was 3 weeks apart. So that it costs money, especially for living and drug costs outside BPJS Health.
They are very grateful to be able to get help from PT Timah Tbk to reduce medical costs and help with living expenses in Jakarta.
