Receiving PT Timah's assistance, the construction of the East Belitung Church of Christ Gospel of Truth can continue

EAST BELITUNG - PT Timah handed over assistance to support the construction of the Church of Christ the Gospel of Truth (GKIK), which is located on Jalan Pulau Dapor, RT 08, Selumar Hamlet, Selinsing Village, Gantung District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

Construction of the church, which measures 10 x 20 meters, was stopped due to cost constraints. Later, assistance from PT Timah will be used for roof installation.

"We are very grateful for the assistance provided by PT Timah. "Of course, this assistance is very helpful for us to continue building our church," said the GKIK Construction Committee, Pastor Petrus Bara Padang, S.Th., M.Min.

He said that construction of the church had started about 6 years ago, but this construction had not yet been completed due to budget constraints.

“Construction of this church was stopped for about a year due to budget constraints. "We would like to express our gratitude for the assistance from PT Timah, we can continue construction in the form of installing a church roof," he said.

With assistance from PT Timah, they hope that the construction will be completed soon so they can carry out worship at the church. However, if the church roof is installed, it can be used even though it is not optimal.

"So far, we have been worshiping in my own home, where even during worship, sometimes the congregation has left the house, of course disturbs the comfort of the congregation in carrying out worship," he said.

They did not expect that their request to PT Timah would be granted so that they could continue building the church.

"This is the first time we have applied to PT Timah, we did not expect that our application would be assisted by PT Timah. "Frankly, we didn't expect PT Timah to help build our church, especially as we know the company's current condition is difficult," he said. (*)
