Realizing Safe and Sustainable Operations, PT Timah Implement SMKP Consistently

PANGKALPINANG -- To improve occupational safety and health standards in the mining environment, PT Timah continues to be committed in implementing the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP).

As a company engaged in the mining sector, PT Timah makes SMKP an integral part of the company's strategy to ensure safe, efficient and environmentally sound operations.

This member of the MIND DID Mining Industry Holding realizes that work safety is not just a regulatory obligation, but a basic value in every operational activity. The implementation of SMKP refers to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 1827 K/30/MEM/2018.

In addition, the Company also continues to strengthen the K3 Culture in all lines of the company and business partners through regular training and increasing employee awareness. In recent years, PT Timah has also transformed the K3 Culture as a form of adaptation of K3 Culture management to the company's business processes. Previously, PT Timah had the Mucak K3 program and 5R Culture and SAFETINS 5R.

PT Timah also improves safety technology and innovation in mine supervision, risk mitigation, and early warning systems to prevent work accidents.

The company also routinely conducts internal audits, and certifications to ensure effective implementation of SMKP within the company and business partners.

Recently, PT Timah together with the Geology, Mineral and Coal Human Resources Development Center (PPSDM Geominerba) held a Mineral and Coal Mining Safety Management System (SMKP) Implementation Training for PT Timah employees and business partners Batch I.

PT Timah Corporate Communication Department Head Anggi Siahaan said that the implementation of SMKP is the company's commitment in building a work culture that prioritizes safety.

The company, said Anggi, regularly holds K3 training, internal SMKP audits, and periodic risk evaluations. Furthermore, the company also actively cooperates with stakeholders, including mine supervisors, contractors, and partners to ensure that all operational activities are carried out according to mining safety principles.

“SMKP is not just a matter of compliance, but the Company's moral commitment to worker safety, environmental protection, and business sustainability,” Anggi said. (*)
