TANJUNG SAMAK -- To support food security and help fishing communities during the month of Ramadan. PT Timah handed over 600 basic food packages to fishermen in Rangsang District, Meranti Regency, Riau Islands, Tuesday (19/3/2024).
In the activity entitled 'The Beauty of Sharing in the Holy Month' PT Timah distributed 600 basic food packages to fishermen.
The Head of Tanjung Samak Village Fishermen, Zainuddin expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for providing 600 basic food packages. With this assistance, the party feels happy because it helps meet the community's food needs.
He said that this assistance was very appropriate, especially now that the prices of necessities are starting to creep up.
"Fishermen are greatly helped by this free basic food package, amid increasingly soaring food prices. Basic food prices are rising while our daily income as traditional fishermen is not increasing, it is getting more difficult. So this is very helpful," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of Rangsang Setu Subdistrict, said that PT Timah continues to show its concern for the community in Rangsang Subdistrict, such as every year always assisting with basic food packages and sacrificial animals.
"Even though PT Timah has not yet carried out mining in the Rangsang area, the company's assistance and attention to the community continues to be provided consistently," he said.
He hopes that in the future the synergy between PT Timah and the community in Rangsang District can continue to run well and the company can progress further.
