BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continued its 1447 Hijri Ramadan Safari series, which this time was held in the North Bangka Area, Belinyu, Bangka Regency, on Monday (March 2, 2026).
The Ramadan Safari in the North Bangka operational area was attended by President Commissioner Agus Rohman, Commissioner Rizani Usman, Director of Operations Handy Geniardi, Director of Finance and Risk Management Fina Eliani, Division Head of the North Bangka Area Rahendra, PT TIMAH employees, and local residents who received donations and assistance.
The series of activities began with the distribution of social aid, including donations for orphans, tahfiz Quran scholarships, basic food packages for the community, and assistance for mosque caretakers.
This Ramadan Safari also served as a moment of fellowship between the extended PT TIMAH family and communities across the company’s operational areas.
In his remarks, President Commissioner Agus Rohman emphasized that Ramadan is a form of worship rich in the values of honesty and compassion.
According to him, the essence of fasting is not merely refraining from food and drink, but also fostering empathy for others and strengthening one’s sense of responsibility, both to God and to fellow human beings and the surrounding environment.
“When we feel hunger, we learn to understand our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate. We can imagine those affected by disasters who may struggle to find food and shelter. From there, empathy and solidarity grow,” he added.
On the same occasion, Agus Rohman also reminded everyone of the importance of maintaining integrity and professionalism amid the various challenges faced by the company.
“Face every challenge with patience and sincerity. As long as we do not make mistakes and continue to rely on Allah SWT, God willing, we will be given the best path forward,” he said.
“I hope that wherever we are, the community can feel the presence of PT TIMAH as something welcomed and beneficial, not a burden. This is our shared pride, that Bangka Belitung possesses extraordinary tin natural resources,” he stated.
One of the aid recipients, Asnawi (63), a resident of Bukit Tani, Belinyu, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by PT TIMAH for his grandchild.
“Alhamdulillah, today my grandchild received assistance from PT TIMAH, and this is the second year he has received support. Hopefully, with PT TIMAH’s presence, the company can continue helping those in need and supporting more members of the community,” he said.
