Rafa Happy to Receive Compensation from PT Timah, Can Buy New Clothes for Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah

SOUTH BANGKA -- Rafa Al Maliki looked cheerful holding an envelope and cell phone in his hand. This 14-year-old teenager from Bencah Village, South Bangka Regency looked enthusiastic.

Wearing purple Muslim clothing, he sat with other teenagers while in the PT Timah Ramadan Safari area which was held at the South Bangka Wilasi Guest House in Toboali, South Bangka Regency, Wednesday (3/4/2023) afternoon.

A class 2 student at SMP 5 Air Gegas is an orphan who received compensation from PT Timah for the Ramadan Safari activity. Rafa currently lives with his mother in Bencah Village.

"I'm happy to receive this compensation because later I can buy clothes for Eid," he said with a smile.

Rafa said that he had also received compensation several times from PT Timah, which he usually used to help his mother meet her daily needs.

It's just that during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Rafa will use this donation from PT Timah to buy new clothes. He admitted that he didn't have new clothes yet.

"I don't have new clothes yet, thank you PT Timah for providing compensation so later I can also wear new clothes," he said.

Rafa hopes that PT Timah will continue to exist so that it can help the community and support the education of economically disadvantaged children.

During the Ramadan Safari in the South Bangka Region, PT Timah handed over compensation to 50 orphans and poor people. It is hoped that this compensation will be useful for recipients, especially welcoming Eid al-Fitr.

This compensation was handed over directly by the HR Director of PT Timah Tigor Pangaribuan, the Commissioner of PT Timah Rustam Efendi, and the Head of the South Bangka Region, Rudy Nursalam.

Apart from providing compensation to orphans, orphans, and the poor. PT Timah also provided other assistance such as assistance for three houses of worship, compensation to 10 Hafiz Quran, assistance with medical expenses for sick people, and assistance to fish farming groups in Bencah Village

HR Director of PT Timah Tigor Pangaribuan said that the month of Ramadan is a momentum to increase spirituality not only in worship but also in other aspects of life, including efforts at work and caring for others.

"Hopefully this compensation from PT Timah can be useful for the recipients, so that it will also provide blessings for the company. Activities like this are routinely carried out as a form of company concern," he said.

One of the recipients of aid for Santo's medical expenses said he was very grateful that his child received assistance from PT Timah. Since she was three months old, her daughter has had thalassemia so she has to have regular blood supplements.

"I am very grateful for the assistance from PT Timah, this assistance will be used for the child's medical costs and the child's needs. Because my child still has to regularly donate blood," he said.

He prayed that PT Timah could continue to exist and return to glory so that it could continue to help the community in the company's operational areas.

"Hopefully PT Timah can be successful again so that it can continue to help and benefit the community," he said. (*)
