PT TIMAH Provides Free Health Care Services at Serambi Culinary Festival in West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to provide free health care services to communities in its operational areas. This time, the services were offered at the Boozem Tourism Area in Teluk Rubiah Village, Tanjung Subdistrict, Mentok District, West Bangka Regency, on Friday (October 24, 2026).

The free health care services were held in conjunction with the Serambi Culinary Festival. Organized by the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) in collaboration with the Tanjung Subdistrict Government, the event also featured group exercise sessions and a bazaar showcasing products from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), allowing residents to enjoy various activities while accessing health care services.

From early in the morning, residents enthusiastically visited PT TIMAH's free health care service area. People of all ages, from senior citizens to exercise participants, took advantage of services including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, direct consultations with doctors, and free medication.

By bringing free health care services to public spaces and tourist destinations, PT TIMAH aims to expand access to medical care. Through this program, residents can receive medical examinations and consultations without having to visit a health care facility.

One resident, Rusniar (65), from Kampung Jawa, said she appreciated the presence of PT TIMAH's Mobile Health Service during her regular exercise session. She initially came to participate in the exercise activities but decided to take advantage of the opportunity to have her health checked.

"I originally came here for my regular exercise session. Since PT TIMAH was offering free health checkups, I decided to get checked as well," Rusniar said.

She explained that she had used PT TIMAH's free health care services four times. According to her, the services are comprehensive, covering blood pressure and blood sugar checks, medical consultations, and medication based on individual needs.

"The services are comprehensive. They check our blood pressure and blood sugar, we can consult with a doctor, and we receive medication. Everything is free, and the service is very satisfying. We hope activities like this can be held regularly, at least once a month," she said.

A similar experience was shared by Sapinda (49), a resident of Tegalrejo, Sungai Baru Subdistrict, Mentok. She took advantage of the health care services after participating in a group exercise session at the Boozem area.

Sapinda said the Mobile Health Service makes it easier for residents to have their health checked while going about their daily activities. She also expressed appreciation for the services she received and hoped the program would continue.

"Thank God, the service was excellent and comfortable. We could join the exercise session and then immediately get our health checked. I hope the Mobile Health Service continues, and PT TIMAH keeps growing and making progress," she said.

Support for the Mobile Health Service program was also expressed by Mentok youth leader Fakhrur Rozy (25), a resident of Bedeng Maras, Sungai Baru Subdistrict. According to him, the free health care services benefit the community, including young people who need to become more aware of the importance of maintaining their health and preventing noncommunicable diseases.

He noted that the opportunity to consult directly with doctors at the event makes it easier for residents to obtain health information and undergo early health screenings.

"PT TIMAH's free health care program truly helps the community. Young people also need to be more aware of the importance of preventing noncommunicable diseases. With doctors available for direct consultations on-site, we don't always have to go to a hospital because health care services are now more accessible to the community," he said.

Rozy expressed hope that PT TIMAH would continue developing programs that benefit local communities while creating more opportunities for young people to participate.

He added that the company's support has also been felt through various youth activities, including sports programs that encourage residents to adopt healthier lifestyles.

"Thank you to PT TIMAH for consistently providing the Mobile Health Service program. We hope the company's various initiatives will continue to involve more young people. Supporting sports activities is one way to encourage communities to stay active and maintain their health," he added. (*)
