These values were reflected in the commemoration of the 98th Youth Pledge Day, marked by a flag-raising ceremony attended by employees at PT TIMAH's ceremonial grounds on Wednesday (October 28, 2026).
This year's Youth Pledge Day commemoration carries the theme "Patriotic, Resilient, and Empathetic: Youth for Indonesia." The theme conveys the message that national progress requires a generation that loves its country, remains resilient in the face of challenges, and demonstrates compassion and concern for others.
General Manager of Bangka Operations, Sadina, who served as the ceremony inspector, encouraged all employees to draw inspiration from the values of the Youth Pledge in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, both within the company and in their communities.
He recalled that on October 28, 1928, young Indonesians from diverse ethnic, religious, regional, and organizational backgrounds united in their commitment to one homeland, one nation, and one unifying language: Indonesia. This historic spirit demonstrated that differences are not barriers to unity but rather a source of strength in achieving shared goals.
In the workplace, patriotism can be demonstrated through meaningful contributions, integrity, discipline, and accountability in fulfilling responsibilities. Love for one's country is also reflected in professionalism, compliance with regulations, efforts to prevent all forms of misconduct, and a commitment to delivering work that benefits society and the nation.
"As a state-owned enterprise (SOE), PT TIMAH plays a strategic role in supporting national development. Therefore, the company's success is measured not only by its business performance but also by the benefits it delivers to communities, its contributions to the economy, and its ability to maintain public trust," he said.
Sadina also encouraged employees to continuously adapt to global changes, technological advancements, increasing demands for efficiency, and rapidly evolving economic conditions.
