PT Timah's Pemali Boarding School Applicants Strive to Succeed, Driven by the Desire to Make Their Parents Proud

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah’s Pemali Boarding School Program has become a beacon of hope and a bridge to success for children. This is evident from the many stories shared by students participating in the selection process for the PT Timah Scholarship Class at SMAN 1 Pemali for the 2025/2026 academic year.

PT Timah’s education scholarship, which has been running for nearly 25 years, is a program that junior high school students look forward to each year. It offers not only scholarships but also a boarding-based development system that prepares students to become future leaders and contribute to their regions and the nation in their respective fields of expertise.

This is proven by over 800 alumni who have completed their education through PT Timah’s Pemali Boarding School Program and have gone on to make their mark in various fields.

Currently, the selection process for the 2025/2026 academic year is underway. Participants who passed the administrative screening have recently completed academic potential tests, psychological assessments, interviews, clinical psychology analyses, and document validations. They are now awaiting the results to find out if they will advance to the next stage, which will be announced in May.

One of the candidates, Ulfia Maharani, a student from SMPN 2 Pangkalpinang, shared her excitement about completing the series of tests, although she’s still anxiously awaiting the outcome. Determined not to miss this opportunity, she has been studying diligently.

“I want to pursue higher education, and by attending PT Timah’s boarding school, I can develop my talents and interests to help me achieve my dreams,” she said.

Ulfia hopes to get the best possible results and pass the test to make her parents proud.

“My biggest motivation for joining PT Timah’s scholarship class is to uplift my parents and make them happy by seeing their child succeed,” she added.

A similar story was shared by Syerin Andrilia, who expressed gratitude for making it to this stage of the selection process. Taking the test in the boarding school environment further motivated her.

“I was happy to take the test and get a glimpse of life in the dorms. It was also great meeting other students who are working hard for the same goal,” said the SMPN 1 Parittiga student.

She carefully prepared for the tests by practicing with digital platforms and researching interview tips.

“I really hope I pass, because I want to make my parents proud and ease their financial burden. This scholarship could be my pathway to college someday, especially because the environment here is so supportive,” she said.
