PT Timah's Month of Service Series Presents in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency, Residents Enthusiastic about Participating in Mass Circumcision

BANGKA -- Ahmad Rafa Azka (5) smiles shyly while waiting in line for his name to be called to take part in the mass circumcision activity in the series of activities for PT Timah's 48th Anniversary Month of Service at the Sungailiat EMS Office, Bangka, Thursday (27/6/2024).

Wearing a red t-shirt with cream pants, Rafa said he wanted to be circumcised because of his parents' advice.

"It was my father who said, Brother will be circumcised later at the Timah event," he said.

Rafa, who is entering elementary school this year, is happy to be able to take part in the mass circumcision which is part of PT Timah's annual agenda to welcome the company's anniversary.

"Have fun, I can't wait," he said while showing the queue number.

According to Resty Susanti, Rafa's mother, there were no difficulties when she conveyed the circumcision plan to her son. Although this year they have no plans to circumcise their baby.

"When I asked Rafa whether he wanted to be circumcised, Rafa immediately agreed," he said.

Resty expressed her gratitude for the free mass circumcision activity from PT Timah, because it helped them, especially this year her child entered elementary school.

"We are grateful and helped by PT Timah's mass circumcision activities in terms of costs because participating in this activity is free and there are prizes for children," he said.

Resty also conveyed hope and kindness to PT Timah, who is 48 years old this year.

"Thank you very much PT Timah, I hope the event will be smooth and blessed. Happy birthday PT Timah, hopefully, it will continue to be successful," he said.

Likewise, Noval, a grade 3 student at SD 8 Sungailiat, had just come out of the circumcision room and admitted that he was happy to be circumcised today, even though he was crying when he was circumcised.

“It hurts, so I cried. "But I'm happy after the circumcision, there are lots of prizes, so I'm even happier," he said innocently.

Heni Novianty, a resident of Batako Sungailiat, Noval's parents, also felt happy because PT Timah's mass circumcision activity had helped them financially.

"Thanks to this circumcision activity, we don't need to pay money to call a doctor to the house, because for us, if a child wants to be circumcised, the doctor is called to the house," he said.

Heni was moved to see her child being circumcised, and finally, she was able to circumcise her child on PT Timah's birthday this year.

"I was moved to see my son being circumcised this year, especially at the PT Timah event. "Many thanks to PT Timah, hopefully, it will run smoothly and this activity will continue to be carried out every year," he said.

In order to welcome its 48th anniversary, PT Timah started a series of Month of Service activities which were carried out at 11 points spread across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province, and Riau Islands Province.

This year's series of activities for PT Timah's Month of Service include Healthy Cars, Mass Circumcision, and Blood Donation.

Carrying the theme 'Moving Compact' through this Month of Service activity is PT Timah's effort to share happiness with the community in welcoming the Company's 48th Anniversary. (*)
