The scope of its services has expanded over the years. Initially, the mobile unit primarily visited remote residential areas with limited healthcare access. However, starting in 2025, PT Timah’s Mobile Health Service now extends its reach to public places, making healthcare more accessible.
For 2025, PT Timah has scheduled 48 service locations, covering both its operational areas and public spaces.
At the beginning of this year, the mobile unit provided free healthcare services at Toboali Market in South Bangka Regency. Additionally, it visited Mantung Port in Belinyu District, West Bangka Regency.
In 2024, the Mobile Health Service assisted 5,727 residents across 52 locations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and Riau Islands Province.
As a member of MIND ID's Mining Industry Holding, PT Timah operates three Mobile Health Units, strategically stationed in Bangka Island, Belitung Island, and Kundur.
This initiative represents a concrete step toward improving community health while ensuring better access to medical services.
“Beyond visiting residential areas, PT Timah's Mobile Health Unit will now also serve public facilities such as tourist spots, markets, and other bustling locations,” said Anggi Siahaan, PT Timah’s Corporate Communication Department Head.
In addition to medical services, the Mobile Health Unit will incorporate stunting prevention education through the 'Kemunting' program.
To enhance its impact, PT Timah is strengthening collaborations with local governments, health departments, and community organizations to further improve public health quality.
“Our goal is to bring healthcare closer to the people, ultimately improving their overall well-being,” Anggi concluded. (*)
