PT Timah’s Mobile Health Service Provides Free Medical Care in Belitung Island, Residents Hope for Regular Visits

BELITUNG – PT Timah Tbk’s Mobil Sehat (Mobile Health Service) continues to provide free healthcare services to communities within its operational areas. This time, the mobile clinic visited Tanjung Pandan, Belitung Regency, to offer much-needed medical assistance.

A total of 75 residents from Tanjung Pandan benefited from PT Timah’s free healthcare service, which was stationed at the Land Production Supervision Office in Tanjung Pandan, Belitung, on Tuesday (February 11, 2025).

This initiative was conducted as part of the National Occupational Safety and Health Month (Bulan K3 Nasional) commemoration in PT Timah’s Belitung Area.

Dozens of residents eagerly visited the Mobil Sehat for medical check-ups and consultations. They also received medications and vitamins as part of the service.

One of the beneficiaries, Aida (53), a resident of Jalan Lettu Mad Daud, Tanjung Pendam, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to have a health check-up.

"This is my first time receiving free medical care here. I found out about this service from my neighborhood leader (RT). Since I arrived early, there weren’t too many people yet. The vehicle is clean, and the service is quick."

She hopes PT Timah’s Mobil Sehat will visit regularly to raise awareness about the importance of health.

"Alhamdulillah, I was able to get treatment through Mobil Sehat. Thank you, PT Timah! I hope this initiative continues frequently, especially since it’s free, which helps reduce medical expenses for underprivileged communities. Wishing PT Timah continued success," she said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Agusrama, a resident of Kampung Parit. Accompanied by his son-in-law, he visited PT Timah’s Mobil Sehat for a check-up.

According to him, the quality of the free healthcare service was excellent, from registration to receiving medication.

"The healthcare service is improving, especially since Mobil Sehat directly reaches the community, providing free medical check-ups. This program is truly beneficial for underprivileged residents," he said.

Agusrama hopes PT Timah will expand its Mobil Sehat services to reach more areas.

"Hopefully, PT Timah will continue to extend its assistance to more communities," he added.

Meanwhile, Luthfie Alvian, Head of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at the Belitung Regency Environmental Agency, who represented the local government at the event, praised PT Timah for supporting community health.

"This free medical check-up program is very beneficial for the people, and I hope PT Timah will conduct such initiatives more frequently," he said.

Through its social programs and healthcare services, Luthfie hopes PT Timah will increase its outreach, particularly in remote villages with limited access to government healthcare facilities.

"We hope PT Timah will continue to support free medical check-ups for the community," Luthfie concluded. (*)
