PT Timah's Kemunting Program Reaches Nelayan II Sungailiat, Acting Regent of Bangka Highlights Collaboration for Golden Generation 2045

BANGKA – As part of its commitment to addressing and preventing stunting in Indonesia, PT Timah continues to promote education on stunting prevention and management through the Kemunting (Kegiatan Menurun Stunting) program across its operational areas.

In collaboration with the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association of Bangka Belitung (AIMI Babel), PT Timah conducted a nutrition awareness campaign at the MSME Center in Nelayan II, Sungailiat, Bangka Regency, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

PT Timah's stunting prevention initiative aligns with President Prabowo's Asta Cita vision, which emphasizes the development of human resources, science, technology, education, healthcare, sports achievements, gender equality, and the empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

Through the Kemunting program, PT Timah and AIMI Babel educated the residents of Nelayan II on stunting prevention by enhancing mothers' ability to prepare nutritious meals using locally available food resources.

The event in Nelayan II, Sungailiat, was attended by Acting Regent of Bangka Isnaini, Sungailiat Subdistrict Head Farid Anshary, and local residents.

Acting Regent Isnaini praised PT Timah and AIMI Babel for their collaborative efforts in educating parents about providing nutritious meals for their children.

"We highly appreciate PT Timah's efforts. We hope this campaign brings positive changes for our community, particularly in creating a better future for our children—the Golden Generation 2045," said Isnaini.

Similarly, Sungailiat Subdistrict Head Farid Anshary acknowledged PT Timah's continuous contributions to healthcare services for the community.

"Thank you to PT Timah for consistently supporting the health and nutrition of our residents. Today's campaign is one of many collaborative efforts in tackling stunting. Hopefully, initiatives like this will continue in the future," he stated.

Meanwhile, AIMI Bangka Belitung Chairperson Ira Sukmawati emphasized the importance of proper nutrition, particularly for pregnant women, as stunting prevention begins during pregnancy.

"Educational programs like this help raise awareness so that people can work together to prevent stunting," she explained.

Educating parents on proper nutrition is crucial for ensuring optimal child growth and development.

"Children are often more interested in exciting and engaging activities on their phones. As parents, we need to find creative ways to encourage them to eat, such as feeding them directly or accompanying them during mealtimes," she added.

PT Timah remains committed to continuously conducting stunting prevention education in its operational areas. In addition to educational efforts, the company—part of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding—also provides supplementary food packages for children affected by stunting.

This initiative reflects PT Timah’s commitment to improving human resource quality, contributing to Indonesia’s vision of a Golden Generation by 2045.(*)
